At the local hardware store the other day , I saw some Very thick Kraft paper ... Heavy Duty stuff !!! Sold in big rolls as "floor protectors” ... It was very smooth on the surface , and I couldn’t help but think how it would glue over foam ... Pretty inexpensive ... Might be good for high stress areas as an additional reinforcement skin , or on the roof , where a little more extra protection is always appreciated... covered over with canvas it would be pretty smooth and Strong ...
Might be perfect for smoothing out the irregularities in bead board , or rough surfaces ...

Was it Pink? Sounds like rosin paper. Rosin paper says it has a moisture barrier, but if it gets more than just a little damp it will disintegrate. Not sure what the "moisture barrier" consists of, but if it is just a wax coating it might interfere with good bonding.

Not sure that is what you saw, but I thought I should mention my experience with it (which is very little). We use the rosin paper at work to protect finished floors during renovations; which is what it it intended for. When it gets wet the pink color runs.

I go through a bit of that stuff to protect varnished floors in boats. I tried saturating some with resin but I think it has a treatment like drop cloths do to keep it from absorbing liquids. I might even have some pics somewhere of my tester - I'll check when I get home from work.
I don't know if it would work for you crazy people who are using TB or paint...

just checking in with you all, seeing how things are going. hope everyone is enjoying their summer. its been so hot here, i don't go outside too often. i just can't breath in that heavy air. i've had some luck with the garden this year, so i am enjoying that. enjoying the pool when i can keep it clean and readings adjusted right.
i enrolled simba is puppy classes. i think i should have enrolled in in basic obedience though. all this basic puppy stuff he already knows, so he's way ahead of the rest of the puppy's. but its still really good for him for the socialization aspect. i have been wanting to start working him on some agility obstacles. so i found a nice piece of foam out back and am working on a pause table for him. i have the canvas glued on now, just waiting or it to dry, then i will paint. it was easy to build, i did have to get the pvc pieces though.
i also just this morning found a smaller leftover piece, so i just canvassed that one also, its going to be nala's little table.
so basically i haven't been doing much except for fussing with the dogs and keeping up around the house.

once my foamie table is done, i will get hubby to take a pic while simba is on it. still can't get a good one of nala, she just won't hold still.

here is one that you might like. ignore the carpet stains, its just one of those things that comes with having lots of kids and lots of animals.
