Pete , as I get older I realize all our beloved possessions require the dreaded maintenance, so am trying to eliminate all the unnecessary burden as much as possible without being uncomfortable ... I brought the old lady’s truck (TB) in for an oil change , noticed it was driving funny on the way in .... turns out needed new front wheel bearings ( those darn new contraptions that are sealed and can’t re-pack, just replaced ... grrrrr!!!! ) new front brakes , and a tie rod end + the oil change .... The bill was over 1K ... :? Plus I had to buy myself a seafood platter next door at a nice little restaurant out in Bucktown (the fishing village ) ... had to eat something , eh ... was there ALL day and half the next ... :o Good thing my mechanic is also my Good friend too ... Could have been worse... I would have had to do it ... with hand tools (old school) ... :R

And speaking of Thrifty again ... not to disrupt the flow here or anything  .... last night the "paddle boarders" showed me the tape I told them to get .... Fiberglass Drywall tape .... something like 3” wide and 300’ long , for like 12 bucks at the local hdwe. (their nickel ) ... Looks like Great stuff for further reinforcing certain higher stress areas or seams .... and several layers should be extremely Tough ... We’ll be testing it out on their paddle-board builds ... Stay Tuned !!!

Next trailer will have extra skin reinforcement about waist to eye level .... everybody wants to push on it with their fingers.... Last night , the “girl” (singer in the band) walks up to the trailer , sticks her thumb on it and says “you know I can make a dent in this with my thumb ! “ .... Well DUH !!! She ’s a 6’2” amazon woman ... and she’s a “blonde “ ... :R  I had to yell at her “don’t go making dents in my Foamie trailer ! “ ... What an Idiot !!! But she sure can sing .... Best reinforce everything against the curious , and the Dumb ....

Eagle , I used to LOVE the Tilefish up there, despite the mercury poisoning  , and Love the Clams too ... :D

Buying my first piece of foam, I was in line at the big box store and a stranger (male) walked right up and thumped the foam several times. Knuckle marks.

Right back at you!

I can smell the pumpkin pie cooking now; I got up early and started cooking the things I can ahead of time

when my wife was alive we had Thanksgiving at our house we did it for 30 + years.
if you look at the pictures you can almost see the kids grow.
it's hard to believe theyhave kids of their own and are making their own memories.

I'm off to the shower only thing I want people to smell is the food.

It was warm here when I woke up this morning. Clear up to 55. That is in the house. I will let it go down to 50 at night.
