I grew up camping and always enjoy it. My wife however hasn't so much. We have done the tent camping and then the pop-up trailer camping, always annoyed with set-up time We do love the out of doors and when traveling, we cook and eat outside ...most of the time. We have been on the road during a rainstorm. When noon comes around we pull over to the side of the road and get into the camper and eat our lunch, no setting up required. We were on the road and stopped for the night in the middle of a really gully washer. We just got into the camper and slept (after fixing supper and reading a little). Camping, RVing, Glamping, whatever one calls it, is a personal decision. It is fun to see what a diverse group we have, and are still able to exchange ideas and opinions. Thanks!

Gatherings are about camping with friends we have met camping.at gatherong!, all gatherings are a different experience, but all have opportunities to go off and do things in the day.. Some do things like soap box derbys of DO cass, but it is up to you what you want to participate in. We take or bikes for bike rides and do a lot of hiking, bird watching, and reading.

If you need to run a massive generator continuously from 8am (or curse you, 6 am), 15 feet from me, until 10 pm, well, that is NOT camping!

Camping is being out in and enjoying a Natural environment , the further your accommodations distance you from that , the Less it’s camping ... If you can’t hear the crickets , turn the generator off ...

This is my current outback trailer. Takes 20 minutes to setup and take down. Before this trailer it took 2 hours to set up camp and break down. I can still say I went tent camping..... :D

Can you camp inside of a big city?

There's a really nice campground with a lake in Cadillac, Michigan. Great restrooms and showers, well-kept grounds.

I’m still intrigued by the idea of “backyard” camping , or “Camping in Place” ... Great practice , testing your gear (fire up the BBQ) , or just sleeping outside the house , great Fun, like when we were kids ... And if you resist running back and forth in the house for more cold beer (etc. ) , then it’s more “realistic" ... Cheap on gas too ... no towing ... Sorta’ “Thrifty” camping ... just for Fun ... :D

I've heard of "glamping". If it is done the thrifty way is it called, "tramping"?

Tramping , I believe that’s when you’re permanently “camping out” ... viz. “homeless” ... :o

For me , living in a hardwood forrest already , we don’t have to go far out in the yard to be “realistic” ... assorted critters included ... but thankfully No Bears , that we know of ... :NC

Nothing wrong with "bugging out" to the bugs in the back yard.

My back yard is surrounded by trees. Makes a good place for "Hamping" Home camping.
