Hi gang,
thought I'd pass along a potential new outer covering for foamies (and any other tnttt):

Through a new forum I'm involved in; priuschat, I found that the younger crowd have discovered plasti-dip. For about $300 there is a kit available including sprayer and enough product to cover an entire vehicle from https://www.dipyourcar.com. There are tons of color combinations available, and you can simply peel it off if you tire of the color. In our case, I'd say a couple of more coats of product and we'd have another layer of protection and/or customization.

I'm considering dipping the front of my prius for the winter later this year... Long before that I'm going to dip my rims. (I just don't like the stock silver... think I'm going dark gray or black, which the kids call 'murdering' a set of rims)
https://www.dipyourcar.com/examples.html

oooh, there's a color I could do the entire car in:

hmmm and this for the rims... Image

nah...more like this Image

I've thought about that too. It would certainly be a fun way to give a tear some color.

Just found a mention on page 374. Keep finding as I read that just about everything has already been covered.

Finished the read. I gained a lot of insight into just what the Foamies and something about the Foamlings. My plans are already being adjusted to the ever growing wealth of information here and on other threads. Looking forward to learning more in the build threads and being able to contribute at some point.

Re: Thrifty Alternatives ... Building Foam TDs

Everyone I have a delima, I want to take some dressy clothes on my trip out west. I have been thinking about a closet of some type. a way to "hang up three or four items and keep them protected. After sitting in my tear for nearly 3 hours trying to imagine how to accomplish this "protected "area. I sorta came up with a way I can store my clothes while sleeping and then possibly let them hang during travel. I need some help to show you, First will hang my clothes with an individual clothing protector"suit bag" they are very thin material but work well. So I came up with a drop down closet door. The celing is the only spot on the whole trailer that I could put the bag without having to fold it in some way. So I thought about a tray with sides, hung from four corners on little pulleys. For traveling down the road I could pull it down with two, when I want to sleep I could raise it up. Glen You know I cant draw so could you help please. I am not sure how to attach my hangers but I know I will find an easy way. The main thing is I want to have nice clothes for dinner out, Maybe to take you out when I am driveway camping at your house on my long out west trip. I have thought about hanging them in my car but to be honest I am not that neat and I have no luck I don't want to take a chance. Having hung clothes in my car before they fall off they get folded and it is just not a good idea for me. I hope this will work . I of course will cover the foam sheet with material and will add a piece of wood to brace the bottom and top corners so the pulley attachments wont just pull out. I will have an edge around it so the clothes wont fall out. I plan to build up on the edge of the ceiling too. I even got my clothes and the hangers and garment protectors and weighed them only 3 pounds. So not very much spread out over 50x30 inches or so.
I know that life gets in the way of building and so does the inventive process.
comments on this idea be appreciated.

Mary c, some of my first lurking was on bobhenry's caboose build and I believe IIRC he used a shallow drop down 'closet' which fit between his rafters. In the raised and latched position the clothing was held horizontal. When access was needed one end was unlatched and the closet swung down with the entire closet hanging from one hinged end. Thinking about using something similar between the frames of the Foamstead.
