Nicely done and well documented! thanks :D

What are the specs on the soldering gun? I'm going to have to buy a new one so I might as well get one that will cut foam too.

Allan just made a "foam plane".

great pictures as well they help

great thinking I would not have come up with that idea,
my thoughts were to cut radius before installing

but your idea of cutting the radius after foam is on trailer is much better.

again great idea see I told you we would be coming to you for help.

that's one big plane.

I must learn how to post pictures my plane was a Bert Rutan designed VariEze a two place airplane
it be came infamous when John Denver was killed flying one in California.

built like a tank, sipped gas and flew like a bat out of hades.

I miss flying, but with diabetes I couldn't get my license renewed anyway no use crying for what you can't have

Pete , I always wanted to be a pilot , but poor eyesight prevented it ... so I make the small ones ... from Foam ... still get to fly .... sorta’ ... better than not ... Burt Rutan has always been one of my design Heroes

This one is an 80â€

No! I feel like Golum and the ring - it's my precious. When I get to understand how to stop tripping the circuit on the transformer (never ever buy a newer one I find out, might have to build one) and how all the different parts work together, I can cut the weight and size by more than 1/2 and increase versatility. I'm intrigued by the sculptural / architectural possibilities of foamies. Using a strong, light and safe framework then building up with foam - laminate and carve it for function and form? I'll earn about electricity but I swear that I'll be kicking and screaming every step of the way - the dogs haven't been following me down to the basement these past couple days.

Pete, yes pictures would be great. Top of the page Help with pictures link helped me. A full sized foam airplane? Ohhhh a glider. That could be a neat project with the grandkid.

Thanks , it was a bit HUGE  ... To post those , I just copied the link off another site where it was posted , and used the IMG button ... simple ... yet unpredictable ...

Allan , actually it’s getting a 500watt Electric motor , lithium battery and a radio to control it, plus an on board video camera ... I’ll post the flight on You Tube , when it happens ... hopefully this coming weekend ... :D

Another of my many “passionsâ€

I may have said plane like an airplane but I meant a hand plane like those used to work on wood.

Allan really did a good job
