How would the air flow be in the back on the last one
#2 Reminds me of a APC a army thing

I suspect the air flow on both of these would cause dust and dirt accumulation on the back side...

APC? You thinking about this?

I think if you were to round the sharp edges over, just a one inch radius all around, perhaps more at the corners of the doors, it would soften the look just enough to make a difference, while still keeping the overall angular look.

Foam doesn't do sharp edges that well and it would be even harder to skin well if left sharp.

I was thinking the same thing. Those word both collect dust on the back. Personally I liked the original design the best. It would also have an easier time clearing overhead obstacles when the tongue was low.

The one with the over hang will keep rain out. Water will crawl down the slanted back without a drip edge.

Why not keep the original design with a gutter system?

if you end up with the overhang I would keep it much lower than pictured. The way it is depicted I can see myself damaging it either through backing, or just pulling something out of the galley and hitting it hard.

PS. And while you are designing ... for those of us in wetter climates, you may want to include a rudimentary "drip edge" to protect flooring and undersides ... It really Does make a huge difference with continual wetting due to either rain or morning dew... Things that happen here ALL the time ... :frightened:

There ya go folks! You now have 3 choices!

I like them all. And each design could be further tweaked to increase the water resistance, and also provide an egress for any water that does get in.

Once I decide on some more floor details, I'll rework the design to better fit the trailer.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions!

So help me out a little bit on the floor... should I make a sandwich? just use 2 sheets of plywood? do a subfloor and 1 sheet of plywood?

I was thinking about how a dropable floor might work. Drop the floor all the way to the ground and you might be able to stand. Canvas sides could be used to keep out bugs and critters. It's still in the "in the head" part of development though.

On the floor sandwich .If some camped where it very cold like 70 are 80 they could add more insulation

On floor insulation, it helps with condensation even if you don't camp when it's very cold. It also supports the floor plywood if you go with sandwich construction. I used 1/4 or 3/8" with an inch of foam. With framing every two feet, the thin plywood would flex alot without the foam to support it.
