Curious ... On the top where the “keystone" joins the nose , was thinking of just blending it into the top of the nose and leaving that ridge along the top (a trolley top... sorta’ ‘ish ? ) .. That way I wouldn’t have to cut sand all that foam off the top all the way to the back ... would be a tiny bit stronger too ..

Small as this trailer is  , it’s still difficult to work on the top with just a ladder... A “bridge" over the top would make things easier for “production” purposes.. might have to mention that at the upcoming Foamie’ brainstorming seminar (The wife’s idea !!! :NC ) ...

...leaving that ridge along the top (a trolley top...

Just kicking the can around here: it seems like the extra inside corner on each side would give the 'sock' some room to pull away from the foam as it shrinks, leaving it suspended above the foam. Maybe stitching the fabric from side to side along that bottom corner like tufting a cushion ?

I do like the trolley tops and it would look great on the FS, especially if highlighted in your paint scheme.

Your build has been cool to watch.
Ok, maybe not 'cool': I'm sweating vicariously just watching...

Did More sanding ... about as good as it’s going to get on my watch .... It’s not perfect , but will serve the purpose ... fairly streamline so should tow pretty easy ... especially with that long tongue ... :D Minor difference now , not worth an extra picture ... Still need a ‘filler” for leveling ..... GS doesn’t sand worth a hoot ... grrrrr!!!

W2 , I thought about that , but could run the skin up to the bottom edge of the “ridge” and then put a central strip overlapping all that on top ... There will be a seam at the top anyway ... my canvas is only 60” wide ... two seams really ... No worries ...I’ll just paint some fake rivets on the seam edges ...

And now , to the back end ... door framing first ... Got some nice #1 clear Pine 1” X 4” ... that should do ... Then I need to get More foam ... may go Blu or Pink in the back , just for convenience... couple sheets probably ...

How about cutting a width of fabric to lay over the ridge then put the sides up to the crease. You are doing great. Now I gotta get to work.

That makes total sense - for some reason I was picturing having the center of the cloth along the ridge. Putting the seam in that corner would give you a double thickness of cloth there and shrinkage ought to be minimal at the edge of the cloth.

When reading WW's post ^^^ I had almost the same thought, except since GPW is always recommending that we add extra corner reinforcement my idea went like this: (1) first lay long strips of fabric down in the corners, (2) then lay the roof/side canvas down on that upto the corner, (3) then finally cap off the Keystone ridge overlapping it all. The little bit of over lap from the upper most piece shouldn't have enough shrink to it to lift, I wouldn't think, because the area overlapping is much smaller than the whole panel.

I like the ridge on top, adds some character lines, same for the little step ledge around the front. Looks intentional.

Thanks KC , that sounds good too .... So many things to consider, so many ways to do it ... You know , I never really had any problem with shrinkage , and was really depending on it in a way ... I just laid the canvas on , glued it down and then secured the edges after the bulk of it had set up ... no problems (my Foamie #1) ... I think the only place we saw the effects of shrinkage was on Mikes ‘ trailer sides , Wonder what he did ??? And still wonder why he abandoned it and gave it away ... :NC Curious !!!

GPW, for a filler material could foam dust be mixed in with Glidden Gripper? The forum had not sent me notices for a few days so I had a whole bunch of catching up to do. Looking good. For a paint scheme you could paint it Petter Max style a profile of Bob Hope's or Durante's nose.

I like KC's covering schedule idea. Then trim it out with 3/4" or 1" quarter round to cover all those edges. Can also use the quarter round as a visual cue in the paint scheme.

Foam dust and gripper ... now that sounds Interesting ... Certainly worth a test eh ?

Quarter round ... that brings to mind all the decorative foam moldings on the market these days.. Those could be quite useful for adding those finishing touches ? 8)

Since no one else has said anything, I would go with the hot wire loop to carve the inside shape. The other options just seem too messy to me. It sounds like you have a plan for the key stone area that will work nicely. Don't forget the drywall tape can be used there, as well.
