I told others about this guy in NOLA building a foam boat some have remarked "he'll need it next time a hurricane comes through".

this is from people who live in a town where two tornadoes hit one removing almost half to three quarters of the town.

I live close to Dayton Ohio wonder what these same people would have said to Orville and Wilber if they saw them over in Huffman prairie?

you keep building and I won't say anything more until you either sink or float, I'm betting on the float part.

pete

ps Glenn the weather is suppose to be in the high 50's here today winds from ssw can I say NICE

This looks fantastic!

I, too, would appreciate more details on the lagging compound. Thinking about it for the skin on my foamie.

Keep up the good work.

Here is a picture of the finished canvas application . The sides and back will overlap.

This seems to be taking more of the latex lagging then I expected based on the article I read about the use for canvas canoes. The mesh I used seemed to require a pretty thick coat to stick. The canvas is not as bad. I think I will need to buy another gallon (at least). It does dry pretty hard so I think it should work well. I'll post another picture when I get the sides attached.

Rosey, I think the mesh is harder to stick down because of the lessened surface contact area ... all seems pretty normal ... covering is looking Great !!! 8) :applause:

... and now you have me thinking about a Foamie boat as the top of a trailer , like those old school boat /campers ... Should be Easy in Foam , and what better a combination around here ? ...

Got one side of the canvas glued on today. I'm running low on lagging compound already so I decided to attach the canvas with latex paint (already had som flat exterior mis-mixed stuff I bought for $5 a gallon). I'll go over the whole thing with the rest of the lagging compound when it is complete.

It"ll probably be a couple weeks before I have time to do any updates...Mardi Gras parades start Friday. If anyone is in town for the parades, you can find me near the corner of Napoleon and St Charles. lol
