Welcome, and congratulations on reading the entire thread. Four days is quite a feat. I started reading this thread in 2010 and didn't finish until 2016!

I finally find myself at the end of the thread. Post 6833. It has been more than 2 weeks to get it done and I will refer to it as I design and build my canned Ham inspired foamie. Thank you all for the confidence building.

Dear Folks , This thread was never intended to be this long , but at one time it was all we had ( BEFORE the Foamie section existed ) .... and so it grew ... :o

It has. Lots going on. I attended CRA last summer and had a blast. Getting ready to retire in six weeks  . I plan on getting out from under my house and hitting the road with the Nookery for some traveling. Been thinking about adding another 18" to the body so I can move the sleep area forward and have the door clear the wheels and to add a pantry of sorts on the back. Anyone add to a foamie in such a manner yet?

I'm thinking barn doors type of arrangement. I'll still keep my current camp table set up. But with my current plan to full time out of the Nookery for awhile, I need more storage for food and such.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

I would try to keep the existing back wall as your new galley bulkhead, shift the existing cabin forward (if at all possible), and build the new galley on the back. Maybe add a xmbr to the chassis under the front lip of the new galley floor (could be 2x4 notched to fit into the existing C-frame members). Might have to extend the frame rails back or sister on some cantilever supports if you can't move the cabin far enough forward to get some support under the new galley (galleys can get heavy with cooler full of ice and whatnot).

That way you would be adding and taking advantage of the existing structure, rather than cutting into it. You could add a small pass thru w/o degrading the strength of the existing back wall much, and that would probably be beneficial in bad weather if full timing it; access to snacks when the weather is bad and you are holed up.

Change-O-Topic. I just heard about this glue.

Weldbond

Steve Ramsey of Wood Working for Mere Mortals. He says he has started to use it more and more. Anybody here have experience with it? Or has it been covered all ready and I was out to lunch?

I'm missing the inference. To which trailer do you speak of?
