I built a weekender and loved it , then stretched it into a standy and that worked well.

BUT
I want to build another trailer with some changes.
I cant use but one at a time,
I built a good trailer and dont want to be going thru the cost and expense of
building another
And I am sick of wood,just doesnt last without a lot of upkeep.

So here is what I came up with . I have a lot of experience in the foam business,did r@d for a foam plant for several years ,helping develope new products. Building a yak out of foam at the present time.
I am going to build another weekender type trailer ,five feet tall instead of four.
Floor walls and ceiling all from foam covered with cloth and epoxy.
The body will be where I am able to unload it on four jacks just like a cab over camper. that will solve the trailer problem and as long as I build to fit the trailer I can have as many builds as I want :thumbsup:

The body will be attached with four turnbuckles a foot up on the side walls ,that should stop any worries about shear.
Well thats enough for now time to go buy some foam

Okay, here's a question for you Ron...

Is vinyl spackling the best choice to fill in nicks and grooves in the side of a foam panel, or is there something better?

Mike it should be fine as long as it isnt very thick, a drop of gurilla glue or a can of sealing foam works and will sand just like the foam when cured.

The GG is much harder than the EPS.

The way we use to fair foam panels glued together, we would use a straight 2 by or piece of wood and take a roll of emery cloth and make a fairing board that would reach all the way across the piece, you can get it nice and flat in a hurry

Soon, you'll all be calling toilets 'heads' and building wedge-shaped trailers so they have a pointy end and a flat end !
