Got bad news yesterday. Oldest brother (age 81) passed away night before last. No info as to arrangements yet. His kids said it was heart attack in his sleep. Still in shock from all this. Feels like my head is full of dishwater. Can't think straight at times. Please pray for our family. Probably be off the board for a couple of days.

Sorry to hear of your loss. 81 is a pretty good run. I bet your brother had some stories to tell in his time. Remember those stories when you think of him and he will be with you always.

It's a sad time, when loved ones pass on; and, yes, it can make you feel pretty fuzzy in the head as well as sad for your loss. I lost a sister, 82, a couple weeks ago. In fact, I have seen the loss of a friend or loved one in June, July, August, and September of this year. It's what happens at our age. Unless we're the ones to pass on, those around us that we've known all our lives or at least quite a while pass on before us.
Before my dad died, I dreamed that there was a party going on in a game room/shed behind our house and a heavenly glow and upbeat song were radiating out through the windows and doors. I walked down to the door, looked in, and asked what was going on. One of the ladies said, "Haven't you heard? Harvey's coming!" The people inside were all his friends and family who had passed on before him. My father died just weeks after that dream. So, now, I find myself envisioning a "Magic Bus" of partying friends and family, coming to meet me at the pearly gates when it's my turn to go. Meanwhile, I will miss them; but, I believe I am still here for a reason. Ive got things to learn and things to do until it's my turn; and, I will cherish the memories of those who have gone before me until it's my time.
Here's hoping that your memories will be enough to comfort you until it's your turn to go and join those you love.

Sorry for your loss.
81 is a pretty good innings and it sounded like it was sudden witch isnt a bad way to go for him even though the loss is the same for those left behind.
Treasure the memory's. .

Sorry for the loss.
My brother-in-law just passed at 45 and left two small children behind. Be thankful for the time they are here and enjoy every minute you can with them.

Thank you all. I am sure we will meet again' but ut doesn't make the missing any easier. But like most of you said I have some great memories, which I will cherish. Feel very sorry for his kids - second wife has told them nothing about any arrangements. To be kept from paying respects to my brother is bad, but to exclude his kids is inexcusable. Please remember them, too.

How sad, how about sharing a favorite good memory of him with us?

Maybe you can check with the funeral houses in his town. You should be able to find out something that way.
If you don't hear from the second wife, maybe you can hold your own private memorial services with his kids. That might help.
