Dave's back, Conch Fritter's gone, new Foamie Build Starting

Postby daveesl77 » Tue Jul 14, 2020 1:23 pm

It has been a while, but ready to begin the new build. Conch Fritter, while a lot of fun, I made a major mistake and did not epoxy the cedar over the Lowe's plywood. The plywood rotted, which caused the entire structure to go to yucklandia. So, I pulled the Fritter's body off the trailer frame, beefed up the frame, salvaged all parts I thought I could use and now I'm getting ready to start on a full blown foamie.

I'm going smaller this time, probably stick to a 4x8x4. I have a Kia Soul, so I have to watch both the weight and windage. Haven't come up with a good design yet, but we shall see how it goes.

Back in the saddle again...dave

Sorry about the previous build, it was great design, especially that impressive folding out kitchen. We all learn from experience and become stronger! Cheers to the new build!

Ok, so it has been almost 2 years since I posted this. But now, no fooling, I really have started the new build. I've got another thread that I'll do the info on as I build it.
:D
