One way of cutting neat seams in canvas is to mark the seam to be cut , then apply a THINNED mixture of glue and water to the cut line area . Let it dry . Then cut and it will come out sharp edged and not raggedy … I can’t quite recall where this came from , but I believe George first suggested this , and it works !!!  Seams are inevitable on a Foamie , Neat cuts make it look good …

Another tip , we found a plastic Bondo spreader from the auto parts store , or something similar, perfect for smoothing out the bubbles during covering … Try it , it works great …

Do you mean trimming before or after gluing to the foam?

I explained the method about halfway down this page viewtopic.php?f=55&t=54099&start=465 . I did it on the roof and along the front bottom edge where I came up too short when canvasing the roof. Still looking good. Should work fine wherever you need to splice two sheets of canvas together.
