when you use propane Gas in your trailer

in the poll you can answer up to 3 questions.

When you use propane in your trailer how do you use it.

I mean it you have a large tank and it is in the font, is it connected to the back all the time.

Or do you just cook with the small guys.

I mostly use the old white gas stoves but have a backup small propane one too.

do you connect the gas line when you have stopped for camping or is it connected all the time.

I would like to know where or how do you store it can you add that below.

MY small bottles I keep in the boot up front.
I have seen some people with special carriers they made to carry 3 at once.

what do you do.

I use 1 lb propane cans for my lantern, but run the stove and my fire ring off a 20 lb propane tank that I carry on the front of the trailer.

I thought about hard plumbing propane with quick disconnects for each appliance, etc. and decided it wasn't worth the small advantages. The added complexity and increased leakage possibility was one consideration, as was the cost of propane quick disconnects and hoses and.....

We have a 25# lite propane tank that is permanently attached to the three burner cook top and water heater and a small grill that plugs into a gas point on the side of the trailer. I also use the grill at home so used gas line quick disconnects.
I will be checking for leaks in the system shortly. Most of the joints are below the trailer so any leak is not likely to create an explosive situation and they are easy to check.

Hey Len, Can you explaine how to refill the 1# bottles using a 25# bottle. I am fairly new to this and I use the 1# for everything. I hate to waste them and just throw them out and would love to refill them, but I don't know how to do it safely.

We have a 10 lb on he tongue that we use for cooking and heating water to clean. 10lbs last at least a week with a little to spare.

I have mount at the front of my teardrops to transport a #25 tank that is dismounted & is hooked to the stove for cooking.

I tried to find a site that offered pictures of most types of propane bottles.
Maybe you know one ore have a picture of the ones you use.

I installed a small 2-burner RV stove in my galley and a 20# bottle on the tongue. It is simple and I should only need to fill the tank once a year, if then.

1 lb bottles, they are easy to store and transport and don't need any extra parts. we use the webber Q grill for camping, but have the grill set on a table outside the galley to keep the heat and grease from making a mess.
