What is a good asking price for the Gypsy Trailer

Postby Steve_Cox » Sun Feb 06, 2011 3:03 pm

Hello folks, I need your help. It's is time to let the little gypsy trailer go to a new home. I just got back from a gathering at Silver River State Park in Florida and quite a few of our forum friends and other fellow campers had some ideas about what my trailer might be worth. I thought I would try a poll and ask all who want to respond

If you want to see a You Tube video of the build it is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd5LlluRcBk

It is 2 years old this week. Never any leaks. lots of photos in my album. So what do you think? Please vote and comment if you like.

I voted 8-10K. It's worth every penny and more.

Well Becca, I have to admit you have bought a lot more tiny travel trailers than I have, I just build them.

  Nah, no real value. You should drive it up here and let me hide it for you! 8) ;)

Wish I could afford the 8-10 K I know it is worth.

I'm going to post the gypsy trailer for sale in a few more days. I noticed the 3 lowest price voters didn't comment. I tend to agree somewhat with your rationale not to say anything, I wouldn't have either.

While it is unique and has enjoyed world wide recognition due to TD & TTT, You Tube and several European video sites, it is still a home-built camper built by a hobbyist and will be priced to reflect that.

Thanks for the input and for commenting.

steve - If you add up just the cost of the trailer, Appliances, and windows, etc (I'm not including lumber and building materials) - even not including your time - you'll find that the upper range is well within reason ;)

Hey Steve your looking at this all wrong it's not a trailer and your not her builder if anything it's an original 1 of a kind limited edition of a remake of classic history piece of Rolling ART by the Artist jnown as Steve Cox

just my opinion

I say at least 10K. While the style may not appeal to a large group of people it has a flair you will not see often. So a person who wants to have something different and get noticed will love it. Plus it's well in the range of your cookie cutter ready made trailers . I guess it's like being the little brick English cottage among all the tract homes. The right buyer will appreciate the quality and style. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks to all who posted comments and to those that just voted.

I put the gypsy trailer up for sale on the forum today and used the poll input to help decide what to ask for it.

There were 21 votes on the poll as of yesterday and the median price came out to be on the high side of the $7000 - $8000 range. I priced it below that at $6,800. We will see how well you all guessed, hopefully soon.
