I'm actually looking to go smaller. I have a Dodge Dakota quad cab w/4.7 V8. I want to go back to a 4 cyl. stick shift Japaneese truck. (Made in the USA of course) My problem at this point is we still have a big travel trailer that I want to get rid of and my wife loves.

probably a dodge magnum. I test drove one the other day adn my boyfriend had to drag me off the lot before i bought it. I love that car.............

oh, and my beetle is gettign too small for my family. now i have a boyfriend, adn two dogs to cart around!

As of yesterday I can contribute to this thread,,, thru acquition and simi reposition I have in my position a 84 S-10 6cyl,, p/u,, now this thing is definately a project or a great natural habitat for fish in the lake,, the latter would be a whole lot less work and a ton of money less. I have bout decided to dedicate the use of this thang to pulling a teardrop soley,, bed is shot and will more than likely build a wood flat bed on the rear,, new front fenders, front and rear seals in the engine, gut the interior of the cab and start again,,
any suggestions or spare parts would be appreciated,,
How bout this,, yall come up with the good, inexpensive ideas for a teardrop puller and Ill see what happens to this "thang" Its sole purpose is to pull a teardrop camping and provide me with entertainmentLet ya realistic emagination run loose,,,

Take the entire bed off and stick another teardrop body on the frame and use it for storage and you can still tow the teardrop behind it

I HAD an '84 S-10 with the v-6, and based on my experinces, I say use it for fish habitat!

I tow mine with a 1926 Model "T" coupe and a 1979 postal Jeep/v6 auto and gets me right down the road with both.

Why no choice for a S.U.V.? I currently am driving a 2006 Trailblazer and it has almost 24,000 miles on it so it's time for a new one. Pretty soon I am going to have to switch from the Trailblazer since the word on the street is that 2009 is the final year for that model. Chevy is going to be switching to the popular "cross over" vehicle such as the GMC Arcadia, or the Saturn Outlook or the Buick Enclave. Chevy is calling it's version the Traverse. They don't expect the Traverse to hit the showroom floor until late fall and I don't think I can wait that long. Perhaps I can talk the wife into going larger and getting a Tahoe. With sales falling off fast I should be able to make a pretty good deal. The funny part is, and what most people don't consider, is the fact that the money I save up front will more that pay for the extra cost of the gas over most of the smaller vehicles people are flocking to.
