8) Not a big fan of mayo, but I PREFER it over Miracle Whip by a mile. My mayo of choice is Best Foods (Hellman's west of the Rockies), but due to cholesterol concerns I've been using a mayo substitute called "Veganese". I only use mayo for coleslaw. I'm a yellow (regular French's only, no dijon) mustard fanatic and use this on my sandwiches. Otherwise, I can usually skip mayo totally.

Goes great with vegemite, Brick

Paul

Honest to God Paul... I did really try to aquire a taste for Vegamite when I was down there. I'm pretty open to try any food. But that one baffles me? Maybe I just never had the good stuff? Just to smear it on toast and eat it is really a shock. Bon Appetite... my friend. :applause:

Of course, some folks I tried to introduce to a good 'ol Southern tradition: Grits had about the same reaction. Accused me of trying to get them to eat grainy wallpapar paste?

I really did like your pasties and those wild hamburgers with the works were wonderful... Pineapple and a fried egg on a burger among a bunch of other things? It was a treat I still do today.

PS: Coopers Ale has got to be the best brew in the world!

Red Robin has a fried egg on the "Royal Red Robin" hamburger. I thought it was the strangest thing till I tried it. It does lend a good flavor (as well as chloesterol) to the burger.

I never saw a little bit of mayonase spred so far...

I am with Paul I was raised on the stuff. It is an aquired taste Like Sotch, and beer, (pale-ale).

So Paul how do you make yours, what is in it.
We ate Whip because dad had a heart problem it got him to 85 and mom a week shy from making 90.

It is a little like salt on your stake I use to put lots then I realized I was adicted to the salt and could not taste the meat. Now I use but a sprinkle on stake and when I make eggs I add it after it is cooked. Mayo has it's bad side to. but if that is what you were brought up on it what you like best even if it is not the best for your system .... Taste is no. 1 what you learn to like or what you have to have will depend on if you are a happy camper.

I use mayo in those little packets like the eateries use, in my lunch box.

I thought I was the only one to that. :)

I'll eat either, but I prefer MW. Mom used to buy which ever one was cheapest back in the 50's, so I got to have both. I just have a preference for the MW.

Now them Hellmen people, they're fanatical!

I'm going back to the "smoking" thread. I think it's safer. 8)
