Image 1950 was a good year.

Still got my hair and my health. Never sick never been hospitalized for any reason. Watch me jinx myself. Work and travel time is 55 - 57 hours a week and have never taken a vacation. Will probably die at work because no one will be able to retire 7 years from now. ( Thanks G.W.)
Growing older but not up !

work vacation

NEVER TAKEN A VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im sorry. my first impression is Are you ....? but I will be nice and ask why you have always worked and never taken time for yourself?
I had 6 weeks vacation plus 13 paid holidays on my job and I used every last one of them every year. Too many things to see and too many things to do. Since I am now retired every day is a vacation to me and I am loving it. Earlier thread is correct, retired on my 55 birthday. Best day ever.

We took my grand daughter to a local st park in the teardrop this weekend.
It Is amazing how much a child can teach you.
We got rained out and since we were only 20 min from home decided to pack it in .We got home and my wife stuck a video in the dvd for her.
What I learned is that I don't know a thing about pokemon.
or at least i was told.

At 33 and being a carpenter i've been told that "Carpenters don't retire they die on site and get taken out with the rubish". So i have that to look foward to sometime in the future. till then i'll live life like it ends tommarow with the check i got yesterday.

I am 43 and my pension will be vested in just under 4 years. That doesn't mean I can retire because I also "live for today." I will die broke, but I had fun along the way..

I'm 49 and turn 50 in Jan. I can retire when I'm 50 but the longer I stay the more I get when I retire.
I'm ready to retire. The heck with it I will eat cat food.

I just turned 50 in October. Had a heart attack at 48. Fell and broke my back 3months later. Stepped back and took a long hard look at the stress I was under. Never took time off from work never went on family vacation. I am self employed 29 years now. I now take off every other weekend and go to the lake house and fish. Found this website a few weeks ago and started reading. Read all the archives and found a 5x8 Yoder Toter for sale. Bought it. Went camping for the firts time in 38 years. Found the 5x8 th be too short for me to stretch out comfortably (i'm 6'2''). Traded for a 5x10 (6'9''bed) My wife is picking it up this weekend. Can't to go camping next weekend. Having fun now

I have posted my age before on the forum, well we got a lot of newbies so I will post it again. I am a 67 year old south Louisiana cajun, retired from a major oil company at 52 years old . I worked offshore for 27 years. Most important is that my wife and I became great grandparents for the first time yesterday to a beautiful little girl. 8)

WooHoo! :dancing Congratulations! :applause: :P

I am really happy for you! My parents are also about to become great grandma & grandpa for the first time, so I know the excitement you must feel. Of course, it also means I'll be a great aunt.... Hmmm...When I was a kid, I remember thinking my great aunts were REALLY old....nope, that can't be me!
