You gotta be kidding? Genuine honest-to-pete, cholesterol laden, high fat, Mayonnaise is the only way to go...
History of Mayo
Mayonnaise was invented in 1756 by the French chef of the Duc de Richelieu. After the Duc beat the British at Port Mahon, his chef created a victory feast that was to include a sauce made of cream and eggs. Realizing that there was no cream in the kitchen, the chef substituted olive oil for the cream and a new culinary creation was born. The chef named the new sauce "Mahonnaise" in honor of the Duc's victory.

I rate Miracle Whip a couple notches below that shockingly yucky Vegamite stuff from down under (Sorry Paul, no offence meant). :?

You should specify that we are talking about Hellman's mayo. Anything else just don't taste right.

Have to throw my vote to be the same as you Hellman's rules for mayo.

As far as this debate goes between the mayo & whip:

I have cooked for some years and have found that it comes down to
expectations ... as childhood taste buds may have had Miracle Whip say in
egg salad while others had Hellman's.

To make your own has its benefits but I would use both mayo or whip
depending on who is coming to dinner if I knew their preference.
A cook if they enjoy giving will give in to the guests desires ... in my opinion.
Such a small request eh?

My choice for me is Hellman's~

when I was a kid we usually had mayo. After I met my wife I started eating the whip. I still like both just depends on what I am making. I voted Whip cause that is what I used for everyday sandwich making.

Can I vote for Kraft Bread Spread?

If you've ever seen me, you should know it's not important what I put on the sandwich, it's important that I get the sandwich!

Mayo is used here, but only Dukes. Back when I first got married that was one of the big changes my wife had to go through. She liked the Helmans and sometimes the Miricle Whip. I told her right then that she wouldn't be using that stuff on my food. In order to keep from buying both kinds she converted to Dukes, and now likes it better. I don't like the sweet taste in a mayo, the vinager flavor just tastes better to me.

Got to have Miracle Whip!!! I'll use the other bland, boring stuff if there is no MW, but I'm not happy about it. It's like the old commercial, "A sandwich just isn't a sandwich, without the great taste of Miracle Whip!! HEHEHE!

I Like put MW in my Mashed Potatoes!! YummY! :D
