I smoked for over 40 yrs. Not those sissy filtered things. I smoked those non-filtered kind. Quit hundreds of times. Never lasted more than an hour. Nothing like a quadruple by-pass to help you make up your mind. 11 yrs. & cant stand to smell them.
The impossable just takes longer & cost more.

As from 1 July, smoking is illegal in all enclosed public and work places here. Brits tend to get a bit obsessive about applying laws and the government advertising campaign has shown some interesting examples - for example, at least in theory, all business-owned vehicles are now 'work places' and so smoking in them is illegal even if you're on your own! Business-owned convertibles are exempt, when the roof is down, as they're no longer enclosed.....

The best I've seen is a surveyor who has put in his terms and conditions that customers' homes are his work place when doing a survey and so they are not allowed to smoke in their own homes for two hours before as well as during his visit. He has asthma and intends to apply this requirement for real. Nevermind not getting paid, I reckon if he insists on this that the risk to his health from getting a sock in the face is greater than the risk from smoking.....

Here's one rather creative answer to England's ban on smoking in public buildings! :cigar: :laughter:

The Wellington Arms in Southampton is set to transform itself from a public house
into the official embassy for the tiny island of Redonda, which lies 35 miles
south west of Antigua in the Caribbean... http://tinyurl.com/2r4pvh

Like Andrew, no smoking in public buildings and workplaces in B.C. has been around for quite a few years. I always enjoyed going for my morning coffee to a local A&W where I could smoke.

I quit in 2000 when they brought in the smoking ban into restaurants. It was probably the only way that I could quit smoking without quiting drinking coffee as well.

Although I do miss having a smoke with coffee, I'm not sorry I quit. I feel better and I've saved a ton of money. Now if I could just quit eating.......
