Just wondering how many of you own your own Business. I used to , about Seven years ago, used to own a Fish & Chip store. Sometimes, I still miss it. Just don't miss the long hours.

We own our own Internet company. Great hours! No boss! Mega holidays!! As long as we have high speed Internet we are good to go.

Could have selected 3 of those options actually...

I own a design and 3-D cad company that works on a limited basis (for now) with the potential for more business in the future. I can draw up nealy anything, but I have a career of experience in glass (and plastic) container design.

I plan to retire from my "day job" in December (or July 2007) and the consulting business would keep me in spending money.

I've had it for about 15 years (part time) but it has paid for a lot of Toys over the years.

As long as I can do it from the trailer, I'll be totally happy.

I started two new LLC's last year. One for flipping houses, we did two last year. The other is actual building of houses. We should break ground on our first house in a couple of months.

Sadly, I still work 40 hours a week at my regular job.

That darned "pesky" day job. Most of us have one, but the freedom of a job outside of corporate structure is a good thing in a lot of cases..

I have a full time day job, PC support, and do etched glass on the side. Hopefully in a year or 2 I'll be traveling around to car shows, my target market, and give up on the day job.

I've been self employed since college....... Graduated 27 years ago. I have been in the remodeling business all my life except for 4 years when I chucked it and ran a bar..... .......... Best thing I have ever done....
I am currently putting a new business venture where I can travel alot. As long as I have internet access, I can run this new business from anywhere in the world.....

Since I have become single, I have adopted the simplicity lifestyle. I will never again allow a business or a job to control me.

I've owned my own business for about 5 years. I maintain marine fuel systems, and designed and built the equipment I use. To me, my job consists of playing with boats, and consulting with the owners or captains that are having fuel related issues. I work abut 30 to 50 hours a month and usually go to marinas and boat yards, places I would enjoy hanging out in even if I wasn't working. I've met a lot of really nice people and made some friends. Helping people solve problems is fun, taking their money is more fun.

I work in the corporate world. Although I like my job, I hate the politics involved. Staying on night shift shields me from about 75% of it.

I was owned and operated by a combination Do-it Best Hardware and Carquest Auto Parts store for eleven years. Then the gold mine and saw mill shut down at the same time. The city literally rolled up the sidewalks for new underground utilites. The second summer of the construction was our undoing. We wound up closing the store August '04.
Boy that was the life of only working half days 6 days a week. I would go in at 7:00 and get out at 7:00. Execpt Saturdays was 5:30 to 5:00.

I miss but I'm glad it is over.?? Now I mange a parts store and do the same thing for someone else. Atleast my bills get paid now.

Maybe you could make it yourself during one of those slow times.

At least you'll have some say in your final resting place.

trying to run 3 business at this time #1 composite repair business (fiberglass) stared in 1974 most of the time if the manufacture would just spend a little money are they plan to sell replacement parts in a few years #2 Restoring old cars #3 Co2 lock up and bio fuels with 5 partners and soon will add a light fiberglass teardrop rental set up , any partners out there
