I for one am coming down to installing doors and wounderd where did yours come from....
How did you build them if you did ??
Was it from a patteren or did you draw it from your own ideas?
does it have a lock ... anything unusual about the door, hinges, or handels?
And Last of all if you could put on different doors how would you change it.

P.S. what made you deside on those doors.

My build has three doors, 2 regular swinging and one suicide door towards the front. At first I was going to buy doors from the supplier of little guy teardrops to match a couple of my other trailers, but then I stumbled on a few really nice vintage Heuer windows and decided to build my doors from scratch. As most teardrop door handles do not come equipped with inside locking hardware I worked up this design using a standard deadbolt.

Of course, this entailed making a much thicker door.....thus a much thicker wall....thus a much thicker TD....... .......good thing my tow vehicle is a 2500HD Silverado!

I'm confused :? . Didn't your inside locks that looks like everyone else's come with a locking latch on the side? :) Danny

Nope.....unless they are really hidden. They do lock from the outside but that seems a bit scary :thumbs down:

I wanted fat man's doors 30" x 40" . I cut them out of a piece of scrap osb and screwed it to the side of the tear. I couldn't stand the thought of square corners so I borrowed one of old what's her names 9" dinner plates and rounded the corners. They are still a work in progress and there are some issues that are creating problems but the look is great. Take a moment and mock up the door and you can move it around until you like the balance and look then trace and cut. You will have a pattern for the other side too.

Do you know if the latch area will retrofit to a standard outside handle? Maybe I can find just the inside latches for sale somewhere.
