thos funny looking numbers at the side of the road as you drive to your destination what does it me to you.
what do you do
Are Trailers required to drive even slower in your state.
what are the speed limits.?

You mean those funny looking numbers on the rectangular white signs??? I thought those were just another form of Route Markers. No wonders I used to get pulled over all the time back in New york on Rt. 219!!!! I kept confusing the two!!

Ok, I'm the one that flipped off by even the old people - I drive 60 mph max (when towing) - maybe 65 on the donwhill - posted limits under that!

I usually use those to see if my speedometer matches the radar. I've seen a few that didn't match, but always figured they were wrong

...without a tow, I drive whatever the local traffic is doing...with the tow, I drive around 65-70 on the interstate and 60ish on regular hiways.....

White vs. Yellow speed limit signs

I recently found out that in Oregon (and maybe other states) the white speed signs are the actual speed limit and the yellow speed signs are only the 'suggested' speed limit and are not enforced. I was told this by an Oregon State Trooper. He also told me that the yellow suggested speed signs show law enforcement folks who are involved in a high speed chase how fast they can actually take the curve ahead. Whatever the sign says, they can take the curve at twice the speed shown. That is if they know how to "high performance drive".....

..............I'm pretty certain it's the same way in California. At least it was that way the last time I checked the CA drivers manual a couple years ago.

I didn't answer the Poll.
Things and situations change.
When gas was $4 a gallon I obeyed them religiously.
Now that its $1.72 a gallon.....
I kick it up a notch.
70 mph in a 65 mph zone is not criminal, just poor math skills.

I use to drive my F150 pulling the TD at 75-80 mph. Then I went to Calif. where its posted 55 pulling anything. I held it to 55-60 while there and found my gas mileage went up 3 mpg. So maybe I'll be pulling the TD at 55 from now on.

That's the deal in Texas also. The white signs are the posted limit. The yellow signs are usually found at highway exits and curves are a suggested safe speed for those conditions. I've taken several police pursuit driving classes and I never heard about doubling the yellow signs in a chase. Must be an Oregan thing.
