My favorite is dark beer, other wise Bud, and the mexican beers, Followed by some of the ales, Out here they have come up with fruit beers. ... but I prefer the standards.

I use to hang out at a Pub in Santa Rosa where we thru darts and they had 100 beers on the list. and had a card if you drank all of them over time ....

In San Luis Obispo, Ca we have several micro.. Brewerys where you can make your own and they have the equipment to store it and then you get to drink your Dandiln Beer.

my husband and i have been brewing for *counts* wow, 5 going on 6 years. we've got a truly evil batch of espresso stout chugging in the carboy right now (which is the reason we weren't at the first redwoods gathering). it's our first commissioned brew!

i tend to like really strong flavors, and am partial to hoppy beers (india pale ales and the like). roy too, but he also has a soft spot for porters. it's gotta be below 40 outside for me to get into darker beers.

outside of homebrew, my favorite is from a microbrewery in indiana, three floyds brewery. they up the hops content in *everything* they brew, and man, is it ever tasty! their flagship beer is alpha king, but i'm partial to gumballhead.

When I was at my Batchlors party the best man arranged to have a beer tasting, with lecture it was a lot of fun.

You need to do two things:
1) Try making an Imperial Raspberry Stout. It is marvelous but I no longer brew. I may have the recipe somewhere if you ask nicely.

2) Come to the Spamboree this weekend and look for Duffys Cavern and I will share some of North Coast's fine brews. I was just at the Portland brewer's Festival and NC Red Seal continues a crowd favorite.

I have no stock, other than beer, but my nephew is the head brewer.

I do love a fine porter, they are hard to find but not hard to make.

Usually buy MGD to keep on hand but my preferences are still the German beers, of course the ones that are actually brewed IN Germany. The stuff those people put in a bottle when it is time to clean the vats will make you do things......*&&^%#^&*(*
They made one called Pirminators in the town where I was stationed, we called them Exterminators, if you could drink a 6 of them and remain upright you had been in Hermland too long. But boy that stuff was good!
Real Heineken (in the plastic case) was good stuff too and very unconsistently potent. A good stout is always nice too, I'm partial to Guiness but I have bent an arm or 2 to a few others while in England.
Boy I'd like to go back over there for a few beers, just thinkin' about it makes the mouth water.
Oh yea, if you've never tried Apfelcorn right out of freezer you haven't lived!!

BTW - The beer isn't all warm over there, but it really doesn't matter cause it pretty much tastes the same warm or cold, but when I was there in the 80's I don't remember any distributors keeping the beer cold.

Yes yes yes that was good stuff, I would say it brought back memories of bring stationed in Germany at Spangdalhem AB in the early 80's. but my memory is kinda hazy on what happened after I drank it. I'm pretty sure I had a GOOD TIME though or that's what the MP's told me at least I had a perference for real Heineken, not the crap they sell here, Brown bottle, full red star on label and sold in the yellow plastic carrying case and Bitburger Pils bier.

You left out Yuengling. From the oldest brewery in the United States. Their lager is absolutely the best beer I've ever tasted. The bad news is, it's not sold in Texas.

While I drink just about any kind of beer, and like trying different brands, I usually buy Amber Bock when I want something I am familiar with.

I have been a beer can collector for over 30 years, and have tasted some REALLY nasty beers over the years, not to mention so awful micro brews that sounded interesting.

Between Mexican Beers Sol is better than Corona.

I'm usually a fermented grape type of person, but when looking at the hops I'll just go with a bit of Red Tail Ale or Eye of the Hawk, both from Mendocino Brewing. I hear North Coast Brewing has a few good ones too.
