I'm a shutttter.... Not so much a lockkker

Keeps them critters out as well as leaves, debris and moisture.

If you have dealt with camp grounds .... then you know that varmints and wild dog type animals feel the urge to visit uP-close. The dark of eve brings out things that go bump in the night. No need to tempt the life force that prays on campers food stuffs and clean counter top at night.

Does anyone use borax or other stuff around their tires to dissuade ants and ear-wigs? Any stories or suggestions for dispersal of such things ?

Like Steve says, I close it just to keep the critters out.

I just keep it closed, animals and rainstorms make a mess.

I can barely lift my hatch (overbuilt, as they say), so I just put it down.... no locking..

In New Orleans (pre-K), they suggested we sprinkle comet cleanser around the wheels and jack stand... which we did.. no fire ants.
