FRP bargain, questions

Hi all,
I'm a newb, have been planning for a while but recently started to gather for my build. I have had a HF trailer for years and a Teardrop gives me a great way to re purpose it from it original use. I was doing the pro's and cons of FRP and PMF when I came across (18) sheets of 4' x 8' RFP for $35.00 (total, not each) @ a local *Restore and the decision was made for me.
So I have these questions:
1. Obviously there is a textured and a flat side on these panels, is it possible to use either face?
2. I see a lot of people using some type of tar to protect the bottom of their trailers before they begin construction, is there any reason with such a surplus that I can't or shouldn't use RFP?
3. Can RFP be shaped with a heat gun?
Any input appreciated.
