vertical/ horizontal seams

hello to the good folks on here
So with skinning with aluminum sheet, due to the size of camper, i have to join, the outer skin, i can get 3.6 mtr long Al2 span to reach hatch but not wide enough, ive seen that people prefer horizontal seams and then run some trim over the joint with more sealer, would that not aid in water pooling a few mm as it has no where to run off? i haven't seen to many posts about a vertical length run seam in the center of the roof from front to back. Then reinforced with trim if so be needed. Aesthetically may not look as sharp but in my mind not an issue>>>appreciate any feedback
