Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I've only been able to source 4x10 foot aluminum panels (5x10 would have made things easier)

So, given this, I'll need to cut the panels to be 48" X 60" (trailer width being 60 inches) and overlap one piece over another. I plan on leaving a 2 to 4 inch overlap.
So my first question is, does that amount of overlap seem to be sufficient?
My 2nd question is there needs to be some sort of fasteners running across the seam where the 2 sheets overlap. Any suggestion on what fastener might be good?

Not quite at the point yet of applying the aluminum.....but preparing to order the aluminum sheet and trying to plan ahead.

I lapped 1 inch and covered the seam with trim. You'll want fasteners to hold the seam down. Aluminum expands and contracts enough to warrant fasteners or it will separate.

I lapped my joints and bonded using two full width strips of 3m VHB tape. No fasteners, been a couple years no issues so far. Make sure the surfaces are clean per instructions.

Running that thru a sheet metal flanger would be slick. Not something you'll use much after this, I looked at harbor freight, they have a pneumatic flanger for $38
