Fiberglass sheets

Postby Kim Armstrong » Tue Mar 08, 2022 3:28 pm

Would like your input on some fiberglass sheets. I found some sheets for sale and no one knows what they are used for. They are 5x8 and .040-.050 thick. Semi transparant no gelcoat and flexibly probably can be bent around a 6-8" curve. I didn't want to spend alot of time fooling with the stuff if you all thought it was not a good idea. I would just "float" it like filon or aluminum and paint it cause I don't know if it is uv safe. Or will I be better off just glassing the wood and paint? Thanks

Well... I wouldn't use something that I didn't know what it was... That's my 2¢. I know you think it's fiberglass and it may be. But without knowing what it was made for, I would stay away from it.

Sorry just getting back to you. There are no strings on the edges. You can some what see your hand thru it. I didn't get a picture of it but was thinking they might use it on big trucks or the roof on ups trucks. They are real fexible.

Tony short changes himself. The advice he only puts a 2 cent label on should cost at least a nickel! :applause:
