PSA on Canvas and where to get it

I have seen a bunch of questions on where to get the canvas, painters cloth etc here and other places. I picked up my fabric today and found a reliable source and wanted to share what I found, where and how much.

Problems I have found:

1. Seams in random locations
2. Poor quality/snags/lint
3. Thin and "cheap"
4. Amazon sources change suppliers and you don't know what you'll actually get
5. Size and width limitations
6. Not 100% cotton
7. Course uneven texture
8. Severe fraying on the edges

We have a Joann's Craft and Fabric store in town, I called and asked and they carry in stock 8.8oz Duck Canvas Fabric 60" wide in a variety of colors by the yard. I went to purchase it and they even cut each panel I needed to size for me (to the nearest yard). It also comes wrinkle free. I gave her a workout but she powered through it!

Their Duck canvas is 100% cotton, nice even texture and no serious fraying on the ends when cut. It was $8.99 a yard and my wife printed me a 40% off coupon online that worked like a charm. If you are looking, check Joann's or another local fabric store. As a bonus they were giving away ribbon roles for free so my daughter got to fill a bag with her favorites.

If anyone has other ideas please share here!

Cheers

Good info. Our last TD we ordered 10oz, 64" wide cotton duck from bigduckcanvas.com

Really nice quality and no seams across the web.

I'm considering duck cloth. Do you know how much it shrinks? Is it good for skinning and PMF?
