Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hello!

I have a Little Guy 5 wide that is showing some corrosion on the rear hatch. There is a slight bulge to the lower 12 inches of the hatch, all the way across, from left to right. The corrosion is occurring on the metal that is over the bulged area. I am not sure if the two are related. The bulge is only visible when the trailer is parked in the garage and the light source is directly above it. The trailer is kept covered, outside in the summer, in the garage during the snowy months.

I am wondering what steps are required to repair?

Sand of corrosion and repaint? Tear down the hatch and reskin? something else?

I would appreciate any insight or links to related posts. I searched, but did not come up with much.

I agree with Danny on the bulging, but the corrosion almost looks like cross contamination from steel (brown rust). Perhaps from grinder spray during new construction? Aluminum rust is chalky white, not brown.
