aluminum grade for skin.

i plan on using 0.04 aluminum skin. my local supplier carries various grades, not sure what the consensus is on this.
below are the grades they carry

3003
5052
6061
7075

1100 and 3003 are fairly pure, so are generally softer; they form pretty easily when bending and shaping.
5052 is stronger and less likely to crack when bent than 6061.
6061 is very common in most forms, but there is a NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems Command) letter that forbids welding it. Fact.

3003 seems to be the most common for tractor trailer roofing coil--would apply to a teardrop roof as well I think. I'm leaning towards this myself.
For walls, as there is usually no bending required, probably 5052 or 3003 would be good candidates. You can read about the different alloys over on Airparts.com. they sell a variety of grades.
