Trailer hitch for older vehicles

Postby Timmayy » Wed Nov 17, 2021 9:52 am

Looking around, I see some people use classic vehicles to tow their campers. Since we just bought a 1967 Plymouth Fury station wagon, what is the best place to find a compatible trailer hitch set up? I see universal kits but they look like they are mostly for vehicles within the past 20 years. Here is our wagon. Thanks for any help.

I just looked for local companies that could accommodate me with a custom hitch set up for my 55 Chevy.
It’s been several years now but I think it was in the $300 range.
Could be a lot more now.

U-Haul has been around a long time and as long as I remember they have been selling them?

Just search.
They are available.
https://www.uhaul.com/Trailer-Hitches/1967-Plymouth-Fury

I get about a dozen results with google, aside from Uhaul.

Verify that it will work with the wagon, before ordering.

I understand the situation, but it looks like it may be an easy solution for you.
The Nova in my avatar no longer has a hitch available. Those of us crazy enough to tow with them have to fabricate from scratch or adapt from a universal kit.

Here's how mine looks.

It's hardly noticeable at standing position.

I saw the U-Haul hitches. I might try a local camper repair shop near me. I'll post what happens.
