Winter in a Generic Benroy

I was wondering if anyone had experience with a Generic Benroy in the winter. I guess my question is does it stay warm inside with only 3/4 inch plywood walls in colder weather? The rest seems pretty well insulated but the side walls are my concern.

Mine is built the same way as yours. I have camped in the high 20*s and low 30*s. Rember keep a window open enough to get fresh air. No air = death!

I would keep a window or vent cracked even though the heater I plan on putting in it will supposedly shut off when the Oxygen level gets to 18%. I was also considering installing a small vent near the heater. I was just wondering because I hope to use it as an ice fishing house too. The temperatures could get in the negative range.

I don't see any problem if you have a heater and keep it vented. If you have enough heat you could be comfortable in a paper bag. The heater will also help keep the moister down.

I you are concerned about it being warm enough, you could always insulate the walls. That is what I have done. It does eat up a tiny bit of your inside width, but it may be worth it.

vent the floor if you have room

If you have the room, it is best to vent the floor (or as low as you can go) That way the CO2 can escape and the air enter without heat loss.

Thanks Guy for the good advice. Now all I need to do is find a nice looking vent to stick in. Oh by the way I see you are a Marine Corp Fan. That's great! But I'd like to say.....GO NAVY! :)
