Chip

I am so sorry to hear this, especially since it was my truck you were under.

If it helps, we do this surgery at the hospital I work at (mainly on men since it's a VA). The surgery is fairly easy although the recovery time can take a while.

ya know this could be the start of a new thread,,, never mind where are you gonna put your shoes,,, where in the heck do ya put your crutches in a teardrop at night,, trying to get them thangs in without causing somebody a black eye or a bruise or two, or a broken window,,, and then there is the middle of the night outhouse run, errrr hobble,, getting them two sticks out and ready to go,,, , Can ya just say DEPENDS,,,, at least I would have something I could stir up the fire with,,,

Ill be thar one way or the other,,, bring plenty of sympothy with ya,   and I can still do a mean two step with one leg,, just might take me twice as long,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Chip, You know how the Crew is. Get there and we will take care of everything else like they and you did for me last year at Myrtle Beach after my release from hospital. Give me a call if you need anything.

funny you should suggest that,, After I got the Teardrop built I of course took it to my parents house for a lookie -see, and one question Mom had was what do you about bathroom facilities in the middle of the night (non-camper) so I explained the theory of large trees or the bath house,, Well the next time I went for a visit Mom said she had a present for me for the trailer,, She produced a hospital furnished device as described in your post,, soo one item of gear I do carry in my trailer is usually a portable potty of teardrop size,,, just in case,,, :drofl: :rofl2: :laughter:

Man, I am sorry to hear about your knee, Chip. I had knee damage about 4 years ago. Please listen to everyone and your doctors......LET IT HEAL. I rushed my recovery and it ain't quite right. It gives me problems every now and then.

Sounds like you might need to throw a Teardrop Raising Party   I need a good excuse to make the drive down your way. I've had a hankerin' for the best Shrimp and Grits around.

If there is anything Carla and I can do for you, give us a ring. You aren't that far away.

Chip

You guys have it easier in the "find a bathroom" department! They have those things for women too but they are a little more complicated.

I've done one "experiment" with the Pickle Palace; built a portable changing room out of PVC pipe and shower curtain, attached two 3/4" PVC end caps to the side of the trailer for the frame to slip into.

Going to try it out this weekend. If it works OK, I'll post the results on the general discussion section.

Could be used as a "potty" room where one could look up and contemplate the stars (or clouds, depending on the time of day Mother Nature calls).

Gail, I take it that you are the new management of the Pickle Palace Inn, Bed and Breakfast. Those of us that frequect this fine establishment expect the same great things that the previous proprietor offered. Welcome to the madness. :applause:

Thank you. I just love that little teardrop! A friend from work came over to check it out and found me reading in it with my legs sticking out the door.

I fear we'll never be able to match Chips fine reputation. I can barely drink at all; when river rafting, I'd consume two beers each evening and then spend the rest of the night staggering all over the campsite, tripping over rocks, looking for the bathroom.

A close potty tent is looking better and better.

Gail, If you can make it to Pisga this month you will get a lot of ideas as to how we get the most out of our tears.

I think October 22 - 23 is the date for the Montgomery Alabama bird fair that got rained out with Katrina. I signed up to be a vendor and I've seriously thought of bringing the birds in the teardrop and camping out in the hotel parking lot. Some of the other vendors come in large RV's and I think it would be a kick to come in the teardrop.

We want to try to get to the Myrtle Beach Christmas party.

And yes, life does begin at 42 (or it did for me).
