I just went to reserve and there are ZERO sites available anywhere in the park.
Judging by their site list, it looks like there are a very limited number of sites in the first place. But maybe they're not just doing work on the above mentioned section where us guys wanted to gather, but a bunch of them.
Looks like Little Talbot is out. I'm still hoping to make the keys gathering in March. In between Anastasia and the keys, I guess I'll use the TTT for weekend fishing at Sebastian, Anna Maria Island, or Ft. Desoto below St. Pete.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.
I am sorry I wrote thr thread as I was going out the door to work. Ross will be in # 17 and we will be in #18 and #19 due to the maintenance issue in the other loop we normally book for the gathering. I guees I forgot to post the site numbers, Sorry

When I talked to the park rangers, they said that due to the maintenance work the reservation network (Reserve America) will be hard to log on to for that Park until they move those who have reserved sites first are acommodated
Isn't there a big talbot as well? don't know if they have any sites there or not... I'm packing to tear down to VA & DE for a couple of weeks (punkin chunkin time). When I get back have to get serious about FL in Feb.... sorry I missed out on Little Talbot, but if I can get close by will try to stop in to say hello..
I would not worry about space at Little Talbot. There will plenty of room for us all there. I will see if they will lets us double up since the park has limited sites due to the ongoing maintenance issue at hand. Plus they will accomdate us by opening up the campfire circle area for over flow
That's fine with me, but can you keep us posted on details as you learn them? I have no problem camping elsewhere (though I would prefer to be with the group), but would like to at least do the Sat nite thing....
So, just let us know what's happening, especially if us non-site holders should be doing anything...
They have about 50 sites (was $5.00 a night last time I was there), but there is no electricity/water at the camping sites. There is a bathroom/shower and water outside that. As long as the weather isn't cold and windy, it isn't that bad if you can do without power.
The campground is right on the river with beach frontage that you can drive your car onto.
Lets not panic yet about Little Talbot, All they are doing is shutting down one loop of sites to do much need renovations on the septic tank and field that is overdue. As far as I know the park reservation are not full. Just on hold until they move everyone already booked in that loop first.
Little Talbot Island Tear Jerker Gathering update: Due to events beyond our control due to the ongoing and updating of the park facilities, They will not be taking reservations until June 30th 2007. So I have decided to move the gathering this year to Anastasia State Park by St Augustine. Those of us that were there in November’s gathering had a lot of fun there. I would strongly suggest that you make or transfer reservations now. The Park Rangers at Little Talbot apologize that they can not accommodate us in February, The park is ongoing first massive renovation since it’s building in the early 1960’s. We will try to get everyone in the same loops. We will be in the Sea Urchin loop at sites 73 & 74 and the nearby site is Angel Wing. I am sorry about the confusion and the mix up with Talbot. Again I would recommend strongly that you do not wait to make your reservations at the last minute. Many people found out that the hard way in November at the Fall gathering
