Little Talbot State Park, Florida chapter Gathering

Darn it all, looking at those pictures of the gathering and then looking out my window at all the ice and snow is pretty depressing. I am glad to see everyone had fun and I even saw some familiar faces in the pictures. It does my heart good too see smiles on the faces of Tom, Jake and Dani (did Jeff make it into any of the pictures Tom?) knowing that we had a hand in it.

Hey Woody, We certainly would sell you a set of fenders. Be warned though, they are pricey.

Cary,
 Wow, I really like the shape though, maybe a pattern is in order. I could make the out of wood to match my Woody. I could handle that  How would one get the pattern of the shape. I knew I should have traced one at the gathering, Darn it. The overall side shape and the measurement of the width. It was so easy, but, I let Pickle juice have it's way with me :tipsy: and didin't do it

Cary,

First of all I want to say I was really impressed with the quality of the Camp Inns...If anyone asks me where to buy a new teardrop you will be the only choice..

I do have a question about the way the roof aluminum is seamed. Whats the price for a trade secret? I would like to know who much you overlapped the panels and how you sealed them to make sure they didn't leak. If I build another I will be doing a wide body and I know that 5-6' wide AL is expensive.

Thanks.

Woody and Frank,

I suppose we could do a pattern for you guys. I think I told Jim on the other thread $10.00 to trace it out. Then figure in postage. Sorry though we aren't doing Paypal yet, it will have to be a check.

Let me know if that is something you really want to do.

Bob,

No big trade secret on the roof seam. Same thing we use along the edges too. Urethane adhesive. The stuff in the tubes used to set in car windsheilds. Most auto parts stores carry it. You can use the Butyl too but it is more of a pain to work with. You don't need much of a overlap but plenty of screws though (long ones, 1" or better) to get it reasonably flat. You do want enough overlap so to keep the stuff from squirting out by keeping the bead back from the edge. Make sure the bead is where the screw holes are so the screws pass through it, hate to have leaky screws. The biggest waring I have about the urethane is to be very carefull of getting it on you or anything else you don't want it on forever. I swear the stuff multipies. We call it the evil black stuff in the shop. Cleanup of it is laquer thinner.
