Florida Chapter 2nd Annual Gathering at Little Talbot

Camping in the Southeast, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Missippi & Alabama, also Southern Appalachian, Georgia, Florida, and Magnolia (Mississippi) Chapters of Tearjerkers

Postby Ross Wade » Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:05 am

I just looked out at the park site map and there are still several sites still available. Most of us are in the first loop 1-16 and a ton of sites in the next loop over.
So I guess to anwser your question, at this point, I don't think it much matters whether you make your reservations by phone or on line.

However, it will start filling up fast, the closer it gets towards the end of the year.

I don't think I would wait to long to make the reservation for a site. The park is huge, but, the camping area is all in one area. So either way we all will be close.

Hey Ross, I finally got my new TD hauler  Plenty of room fo more liquid libations and and ice

Thanks Ross. good to know that you dont have
to be a member. appreciate that!

My sweetie and I are planning on being there that weekend.
should have most of the tear ready by then.
(isnt it always going to be under construction?)

QUESTION.............
what is the difference between the regular RV sites and the tent sites
in loop 1-16?

Survey,

The difference between the pop up sites and the tent sites is, the tent sites are designed to handle a maximum vehicle length of 15' or less (1 car and 1 tent). The pop up sites are much larger and can handle up to 2 vehicles and a tent or two.

However, sometimes the park rangers will allow a small trailer in the tent sites in certain state parks.

Hope this helps. Just remember, teardrops are always "Work In Progress" :hammer:

site 5 is available... can anyone tell me if it is big enough? I talked with the park, they said the tear would fit, but it would be tight..... there are some sites between 13-16 available as well.... would like some feedback if anyone can help.

Have a 12x10 screen house I might need room for as well as tear and minivan.

Hey Arne,
Site 5 is pretty small. We were in site 6, right next to it last time, and the people who were on it had just enough room for their van and a 4 man tent.

Too many  ROOTS :? to remember what the layout was for sites 1, 10,11 and 13. Maybe Alan, Frank, or Woody will chime in soon to help.

Arne,, I was on #4 last year and had my car, tear and a 10x12 room also,, its listed as a tent site but I had plenty of room,, If my old mind is half way working you will have ample room on site 1,10,11,, You prob would not be roomy enough for a family homecoming but it will be cozy,,,If it gets too tight some of the larger sites would be glad to let ya park on theirs,,, it aint nothing that cant be worked out,,, after you figure out the combination lock on the entrance gate its a piece of cake,,

I just reserved site 11 for thurs-mon..

?? ... is it cheaper to reserve direcet instead of going through reserveamerica?

??... Florida residents over 65 get 50% off..... I want to become a FL resident..!!

----------

I may make a separate topic for this, but I plan on being in FL for about a month. In late Jan and Feb, is it very difficult to find campgrounds to stay in.??

I don't have any specific plans so don't really want to try and make all my reservations now.
