Looks like 6 or 7 tears and a couple of campers. How we going to get near each other ? First person there put a reserved sign on some sites ? We probably won't get there early as it is a long haul for us. Wanda says HI to everyone.

Alan,
That's the plan, putting a chair, tear, vehicle, something in the site, hopefully the rangers will not say anything. We are planning to leave early Friday morn. and will do what we can.

Frank & Linda
Let's go camping!

Alan,
I made reservations a couple of weeks ago, so add another to the list. Fain and I will be coming up on Friday. It'll be the first time I'll have towed the tear with the Ford Five Hundred. Thanks to whoever put this together, we look forward to seeing you and Wanda and everybody else!

With Tears 9: Alan/Wanda, Chip/Debbie, Clancy/Fain, Dan/Jane, David/Wife, Frank/Linda, Jim/Wife, Pete/Lynn, Ross/Carla. Tents 2: Geron and Regie. That's eleven sites to hold. The gathering of TTTT (Tiny Tacky Trashy Trailer) gang is getting there. Flamingoes anyone ?

We will be there and we're booked. We just finished our tear this weekend, and this will be our "first" gathering (we don't know really what to expect). If anyone could give any "heads-up" as to anything that we need to bring, that would be great. Can't wait to finally put some faces with the names!

Bring a sense of humor, your favorite beverage and be ready to stay up late. Tacky decorations are in order and Flamingoes a must have item. We tend to get a little silly.

Is there a count for the Saturday night dinner yet? It looks like some are wanting to stay at the campground and some are wanting to do a little grazing at the Lodge buffet. Carla called the Uinico Lodge and asked about the buffet. The buffet generally has trout and BBQ on the menu and runs about $12.00 - $15.00 per....at least that is what they told us.

It doesn't matter to us one way or the other. Just wanting to plan our meals.

Jim,, we looking forward to meeting ya,, as far as what to bring,, if you are anything like the rest of us ya bring everything but the hot tub on the first trip out,, and then start cutting down the list and take off all the worthless stuff and add the really important things,, I think I took enough food for a two week outing rather than a two night trip,, and enough pots and pans to cook a 5 course meal,, and on two burners with no oven,, what was I thinking??? now,, a couple cans of viennas, jar of pickles, bottle of Crown , couple tomatoes,, (maters) and bread and chips and I am good for at least 3 days,, that is if the crown holds out,,
seriously,, make a list and then cut it down to what ya really need,, If ya get there and dont have something,, one of us will,, we share,,,, Oh bring chairs, easyup and anything to do with the tacky yard ornament stuff!!

see ya in Hellen,,

I can't wait. I am an Eagle Scout myself, so backbacking has really been my thing for a number of years. I remember my "tenderfoot" years when I carried almost 75 lbs. worth of gear into the Philmont reservation in New Mexico. After two days of hiking with that, I learned the great lesson of "over packing." Now, I can go to the beach in Florida for a week with a single duffel. Therefore, I will be able to pack quite well.... we might need to rent a U-haul for the girlfriend though

Can't wait to meet you guys, and I'm looking forward to it. On a side note, the buffet up there is really something. I have eaten there before, and it was very very good. I highly recommend... but it is hard to beat the "campfire method." See ya in Helen!

Hi Gang,
Linda here. Happy :D so many people are going to be able to make it. It seems like it's been a long time. Well I personally thought about on Fri. afternoon maybe taking a hike up to Anna Ruby Falls, eat buffet at the lodge, return to campground and catch up with old friends and make new ones. On Sat. afternoon I thought maybe a stroll down the streets of Helen (or ride the river  ) Go back to the campground for a HEAVY horsd'oeuvre supper (chips, dip, sandwichs, meatballs, BROWNIES, etc.) then catch up some more with friends, maybe even have some late night pickle juice. What ya'll think? Don't worry about hurting either one of my feelings. We are flexible. yea buddy!

Linda,

That was kinda the stuff Carla and I wanted to do. I was wanting to take a paddle boat out on the lake. I am leaning towards the heavy horse dovers and ice cold beer, with an occational PJ & C
