All your missing is a peach in a mason jar and you are set for some "ROOTS" interaction

:fb Went out to prep for next weekend and found a gallon of water in galley, mildew and rust and soaked wood. Have a fan on it now tring to dry everything out. Tear in seal at hinge I must replace in the morning. Lots of rain lately. What a damn mess. We are both looking forward to next weekend. Oldest daughter that was at Myrtle Beach may come with us in a tent. Almost have Wanda talked into leaving after she gets off work Thursday night. Might be sitting outside Chips door when he wakes up in the morning.

I know how you feel Alan. We spent last weekend taking care of "leaks".

We have always had a problem with the door hinges leaking when the teardrop was in tow while it was raining. We also had water coming into the galley. Found out it was coming in in two different areas, the galley hinge and the third brake light, The galley had to be open before this leak occured.

The solutions to the problems were to build an interior frame on the inside of the door openning to create a 3/4" lip to help seal the door. :worship:
The galley hinge was removed and a piece of thin rubber placed underneath and then used Lexel sealant and reinstalled the hinge. When I installed the third brake light, I never sealed up the pass through hole for electrical wires :o

See ya'll in a week,
Ross

Frank; I dont know about anybody else but I am starting to wonder if there is another trailer in your shop????? or is Linda still making changes to the original plan,, those change orders can sure add a lot of time and money to the original design,,,,, :rofl2: :drofl: :laughter:

get all the sights arranged and secured fer us in Unicoi since you are gonna be the first there,, and as always please try to put Pete's trailer and mine at the quiet end of the group,, the rest of the group can get a bit noisy and I know how yall like to stay up late,,, I really need my beauty rest,,

see yall in a week

Is it time yet? :)
I'm getting every thing done on the van today and checking out the tear the rest of the week.
Shouldn't have much to do to it.
It still looks like we won't make it till sat. so save us a spot.

Ross and Alan,, seems this is the week of water problems and I had my share this weekend,, but they were a bit different than your situations,,
We went to a surprise b'day party for a old friend in Charlotte NC and to have a cozy spot to sleep and not impose on the guest (they have 5 children under the age of 12) I hauled the trailer along,, course I plugged into the 120 power grid and turned on the a/c, the trailer looked level and it felt level but it was out just enough thet the condensate didnt go out the drain line,, it overflowed into the cabin on my feet, sooo at bed time it was nice and cool but there was a 2 foot wide wet spot all across my feet,, not to worry Ill just move my feet to one side and it will be just fine,, yea right,, by morning it had doubled in size,, and was now dripping wet rather than just being a bit damp,,
now the matterace and bedding is hanging in my garage to dry and I am packing a extra level just in case I forget one,,

see yall this weekend,,

p/s goooooood party though

Hey Chip, just mount some levels permanently on the side and hatch and you'll never have to worry about bringing one along on the trip. (it's always nice to know, after a whole jar of mash, that at least the trailer is on the level!)
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

It is starting to sound like a "Depends" commercial here

I had the same problem with A/C condensate the Keys with what I thought was a level trailer. it wasn't so I added levels to mine just to be sure next time. That does ruin a good time when you crawl in and it is wet in there.
