Ok,, control is not one of my better points,, suggestion for the Christmas trip,, everybody bring a gift ,,say less than $10.00 a gift and exchange on pot luck night in some form or fashion,, make them gender generic and camping related,, could be serious or gag,, can add a twist to the festivities,,
Ho! Ho! Ho!

How about a White Elephant gift giving. If you have never heard of this, it's when you go through your closet for a gift that you received that is the WORST gift every. It is so bad that this is the reason it is hidden in your house. You wrap that ugly gift with no name tag and comedy is sure to ensue Everyone must bring one in order to receive one.

Ross, that sounds good. Darla has another twist to it. It involves trading and such. The woman can explain it better than I, if I can get her to write it down. Even Chip's idea with a $$ limit is good.
More on this to come,

I know that I won't have my trailer nearly ready enough for that trip (anyone know of any planned yet for Spring or early Summer 2006?). But, I have to tell you of a gift-giving idea that we used where I once worked. Everyone brought generic (i.e. gender non-specifid). Everyone drew numbers. The person with #1 picked a gift and unwrapped it. Then, #2 had the option of either picking another gift, or taking the one from #1, who had to choose another, and so on. The higher the number, the more options for "taking" a gift awqy from the others. It was a reall hoot. I saw one particularly nice gift change hands a dozen times.
PS. I can't wait to attend some of the TD gatherings. I gotta get started building!!! I hope to be ready by April...early May at the latest.

I just found the calendar, but see no gatherings listed after the one in Feb. I'll keep an eye on it.

THEN, on closer examination, I found the post about the Edisto Beach, SC gathering in April. I'll surely try hard to make that one. It sounds great. I've spent time at the Outer Banks in NC, but never at the SC beaches and have always wanted to visit them.
