Anastasia State Park
Tear Jerkers' Florida Chapter 2nd Teardrop Gathering
October 7 - 9 2005
Anastasia State Park has a 139 site campground. Each site has a picnic table, an in-ground grill, fire ring and water. All sites are equipped with electricity, if needed. None of the sites have sewer hookups, but there is a dump station located in the campground. Each of the sites is located in a shady hardwood hammock, away from the blowing sand and salt spray of the beach. However, most sites are within walking distance to the beach. There are natural barriers between each site that allow privacy for the visitor.
Reservations for campsites may be made by contacting ReserveAmerica, toll-free, at 1-800 326-3521 (8:00 am to 8:00 pm), 1-888-433-0287 (TDD) (For Hearing Disabled). Nightly Camping Rates for Anastasia State Park
Year Round: $23.00 plus tax, and let them know that you are part of the teardrop group (plenty of sites available). Contact Bill Wellington, Tear Jerkers Fla. Director, for more info: tearjerkersfloridachapter at earthlink.net

I have booked site 111 and 114 on the Coquina loop now. This will be for the October gathering. Firewood can be purchased at the park and off site. The sites will hold a teardrop and a tent. I would book the sites now to ensure that you have a reservation before the park fills up. Remember that this is rated as the number one park in the state for scenery and beauty. It will fill fast book now

Woody.. a little off-topic but is the Keys getaway still in the planning stages? I see nothing has been posted since July... Next year's wishlist includes the Keys trip and the Redwoods gathering - everything else will be local weekenders.

DestinDave,
The florida keys is set for Sugarloaf KOA, I haven't had chance to post to much about it lately. So keep in touch and join us in The Conch Republic with all the tourists covered in oil

Well our plans have just changed from spending the week in the NC Mountains and stopping by Anastasia State Park on the way home to finally meet some of you. Now it looks like we will drive up towards St. Augustine Friday night and come by the park on Saturday to say howdy.

Hey Woody,
Just thought I'd warn ya, this old geezer from St Augustine will be stopping by on Saturday to lurk around the teardroppers. I've yet to put the outer skin on my own TD, but it is progressing. Looking forward to meeting everyone there.
