Florida Chapter of the Tear Jerkers
Florida Keys Gathering
Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA
March12-18
Set between the crystal-clear Gulf of Mexico and the popsicle-blue Atlantic, Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You’ll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, from walks along sugar-sand beaches to fishing for tarpon. Swim and snorkel in water warm enough to wash away winter chills. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen daiquiris on the waterfront veranda of the campground’s pub.
Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground’s shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed “the Conch Republic.” Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier.
All are welcome. If you can’t spend the night, then spend the day.

Sounds good Woody. How quick should we get our reservations in? Our oldest daughter, Carmen, may back out, but our youngest is wanting to go and she hates camping. Maybe we will be able to convert her.

Woody,

I'm having trouble convincing my wife that people actually like sleeping a box. She isn't an avid camper like me and that's one reason I decided to build something a little larger (but not much larger). Do you have any idea how many people are in teardrop clubs in Florida and the rest of the country? Or possibly any many own them and may not be in any clubs?

I may drop in on the Anastasia gathering just to visit some of the day and meet other tear owners. My wife has been wanting to get to St. Augustine to look around anyway, so two birds...

Trust me everywhere you go in a teardrop. Nobody believes that you can sleep in them either and two peple can also, blasphamy. Well the Teardrop clubs in the area, there are a few. I am the Florida Chapter of the Tear Jerkers Director. That is one club that I am aware of. As far as how many people in Florida, gosh that's hard to say. Maybe 100-200 posibly statewide. What other clubs are there here I don't know. Eveyday it seems like someone new pops in or on all the boards I go to. The rest of the country that's hard to say, maybe 1000-2000, I really have no idea. Who knows how many aren't aware of the clubs to begin with anyway. I can tell you this it has grown a lot since I have been involved for the last 2 1/2 years. Looking foward to meet you and your wife at a gathering or two. Keep in touch
