Jim,
Sounds good to me depending on when.
Alabama is about a hours drive from us.
I'll see if there's any spots that sound good.

Might be a possibility for me. I'm two hours west of Birmingham on I-20 just over the GA line

I'm up for a gathering. We're in Huntsville and there are several likely campgrounds in the area.
Here's one suggestion - Brushy Lake in Bankhead Forest is a little-known spot that's really nice. Hot showers but no shore power. Just a few miles from the Sipsy River (wonderful trails in the forest).

Guntersville State park is hard to beat. A lot to see and do in the area. My wife and I camp there several times a year.

I've been to Guntersville park, plenty of sites and it's on a beautiful part of the Tenessee river (maybe THE nicest lake). I've never been to Joe Wheeler, only passed it in route to Florence.
But either place would be fine with me, I've been itching for a gathering in this part of the woods. I thought about Talbot Island in Feb, but don't believe we'll make it.

I'm less than 2 hrs from Alabama, so I'll be watching this thread to see what materializes. My tear should be camp-able by first of the year.

I was thinking april for this, but maybe May would be better because it'll be warm enough to fish and do some water activities, but hopefully, still cool at night.
