Alan,Chip,

Boy I am really looking forward to meeting you guys and everyone else from your area. All the photos Ross has posted from your outings look like you really had some good times, as did we. This should really be a Great Rally.

We're searching for some suggestions for some workshops. Any suggestions you can come up with would be appreciated.

The first one I came up with was, since there is a Catfish pond there some recipes. Of course all recipes must have a well seasoned BS story to go along with it.

Happy Trails

I am building 1/10 scale cutaway model of a generic tear so folks (Wannabees) can get an idea of how one goes together. Seeing it will be easier for them to understand what is under the skin. I would like to see a dutch oven meal/baking class as I have never used one. I think you will see a good turnout from the "Carolinas Crew".

Chip
I just went to Wall-Mart and got one of those "Portable" Roots. Ya can take it with you and put it anywhere. Its so people in the desert can have fun too.
I know there'll be a good turn out from that Carolina crowd. Word has it that all it takes is a cat to have kittens and those folks will have a party.

Alan, I know a lot of people cook Dutch Oven dishes for the Sat. Night Pot Luck dinner. I know I will, if my family takes the hint for Christmas and gets me another one.

Happy Trails

Portable roots,??????????? Len you are giving some folks ideas,,, at least paint them with orange warning strips,, might go right along with the tires half buried in the ground and painted white,,,

Len you and Ross may have opened up a Pandora's box on this gathering,,, A number of ideas are floating around about the trip and approprate decor,, should be an interesting weekend,,, I am looking forward to it,,,

Having a Dutch Oven workshop ain't a bad idea. I am sure as the word gets out, we should be able to find someone willing to teach it.

Chip, I hate to say it, but the campcround is purtner flat.

I have a good feeling that this rally is going to BIG
Carla and I will be getting there a few days early, so we can do a little site seeing before the masses begin to roll in

I'll be getting there Wednesday. I'd really like to fish that New River. Anybody know anything about it. I like Small Mouth fishin' in a Kayak.

Chip
If ya paint the roots a bright color, It takes all the sport out of it.

I'm getting a lot of emails about this rally, I agree its gonna be a good one.

Happy Trails

We should be there also!

Postby Mark & Andrea Jones » Thu Dec 22, 2005 1:23 pm

We will try to fit it in also. Especially since we are less than an hour from Ft Chiswell! Sounds fantastic.

Re: New River. I think the fishing around that area is fairly good, but I'd have to do some asking around and find out for sure.

If anyone wants to do a float trip on the river, we would be willing to organize it. BYOBoat, of course!

Andrea.

Being just outside of Nashville, TN we'd love for this to be our first Teardrop Gathering, and the little jewel will be done by then. Only problem is that dang Army National Guard Drill Weekend thing. It always comes around when something else is planned! :x After spending last year in Kosovo, we are happy we are here working on our teardrop rather than stationed overseas. God bless those who are away serving our country.

I guess after 33 years for me, and 30 for my beautiful wife, we should be used to it by now. But, both being Master Sergeants it's kind of hard to miss drill weekends......

If there's any way possible we'll be there, but it ain't a lookin too good for those dates... :(
