my electrical setup

Thought I would share with you my electrical setup. This cabinet is where the majority of it is stored, the fuse panel and dist. block are mounted in the cabinet above. In this picture I have yet to hook up the second deep cell, but thats on its way. The power converter (green label) in this picture is a modified PC power supply outputting 6amps. The switch controls when it is on, and there is another switch (out of sight) that isolates the battery from it when it is hooked to 110v. The charger is a 2/4/6 amp charger with a battery charge level on it so I can keep an eye on the charge. Still need to loom some of the wire and clean it up a bit!

Be Careful, you have sparks right above your battery which could offgas and cause a nasty fire.

Hmmm, I thought you needed two new identical batteries when you wired them in parallel. That way one battery doesn't discharge the other. Are they 12V or 6 V batteries?

I'd still isolate the batteries in a case and vent the case to the outside just so a spark does touch off the gasses.

I think he did vent it. Check out the soffit vent to the right.

The case is vented, you can just make it out to the right in the picture. Also what you cant see is a blower fan that brings fresh air in from the outside on the left.

The 110v, never makes it past this cabinet. It is steped down by the power converter to 12v dc. Noting else runs off of it(well the charger), but the surge protector does hace a fuse and reset switch just in case.
