So many members have finished their trailers this year, I thought it might be a good idea to put all the 2008 trailers in one place, soooooo......

How about showing us a picture of your 2008 trailer and share with us how long it took you to build it.

To start the thread, here is my trailer, which we loving call "The LongHaul"

Weekender II - built in 3 months for its maden voyage at LCGIII

darn, I voted wrong...... my first one took 5 weeks, but it was a very basic, non-galley tear. That was 2004.

The second one, this year, took about 18 months due to death of spouse and the depression and crap during which I did nothing. By time I got going again, winter was setting in.

I think real build time was probably around 3+ months. In late winter/early spring, when the afternoons got warm, I'd work 2-3 hours in 40 degree weather... and longer as the days got longer/warmer, I could work more... finally finished in June of 2008.

"Itty-Bitty"

Brought the trailer frame home from HF on June 8th. Took it on it's maiden voyage (another one for LCG III) October 25th. It wasn't quite done then; but it's almost done now. It now has working interior lights and trim work. All I still need to do is mount the 30MM ammo can on the tongue to hold the battery, install the galley latches, and hang the curtains I made to match the comforter I also made.






Project for over the winter..... before I start on #2 (the Paddy Wagon)... figure out how I'm going to add a/c to "Itty-Bitty"

Your choices didn't go high enough, I started in 2006 and after 2 full seasons of camping and over 2,500 miles on it, it's still not done

I just got through gutting the inside to redo the cabinets, it's so bare it kind of brings back memories

Caught the bug in March, started building in May, spent the first night away in it in September, but still only 98% complete!

Scott, I guess, completed for a second time just wasn't on my mind, I was overjoyed to get the LongHaul done the first time or at least done enough to camp.

There sure are some wonderful trailers that got done this year! I am so impressed!

I started our build on March 21.........good Friday

We had our first camp on July 12. All functioning, but no doors and drawers;


A couple of weeks later.............






Rear storage cupboards;


Front storage lockers;


It's been the most fun you can have without getting in trouble.

Looking forward to a second build.................... coz I like building.

And there aint no way it would be 1/2 of what it is without this site, so thank-you all kindly.

I've loved every minute of the build and still do. My wife won't let me start another So I just keep redoing and improving. I keep looking at pictures of and going to gatherings and seeing all the beautiful tears that I just keep getting new ideas.
