Tin Can Tourists Fall Gathering - anyone attending?

Postby OurStuff4You » Wed Aug 09, 2006 6:12 pm

We plan on working on our trailer with more focus this winter, and I'd love to incorporate some of the great teardrop ideas into our trailer. There are always 1 or 2 tears, but it'd be nice to see a few more so we can get ideas. I'm a "gotta see it, touch it," kinda gal. <NO COMMENTS NECESSARY  >

Also - porta potty ... any suggestions on a brand???

I suggest the "Crap Master 2000"

Home Depot toilet seat (TS) $4.95, home made wooden frame bolted to TS to fit plastic bucket (scrap wood-free), plastic bucket from pool chlorine tablets (free) and a plastic bag inserted in bucket (10 cents).

Short. Sweet. Simple. :D

Now THAT is creative engineering. Almost as good as the toilet seat that went on a trailer hitch, or something like that. Saw a video online once.....

Do you put kitty litter in it so it doesn't smell during the night and then dump in the morning?? Yes, TMI to be sure but.... (no butts intended)

Kitty Litter. A couple of bucks, but it does the job and keeps the flies away!

Of course this type of thing is used in an area that is remote, away from anyone. A tarp put up for privacy is all that is needed.

The bottom line is that it is "comfortable" to use!

I've heard someone use that same idea and get adult or even baby diapers , maybe cheaper at the thrift store, etc. put that in the bottom

Whatever works.... yes ! A privacy screen!!!

I can just see my wife getting on ANY of the above.

No doubt about it for me. Any remote camping and it's going to have to be the most expensive "real" porta-potty they make, housed in a small tent.
Here we go again!

Hey Mytear , when is the TCT Fall outing ? Do we have to register or join the TCT Club to camp with them ? Do we just camp around them ? Any info would be nice. Thanks.

Boodro,
The TCT Fall Gathering and Flea Market is at Camp Dearborn in Milford, Michigan on September 14-17th. It's a public campground, but fills up with some wonderful vintage trailers from TCT. Here is the address of the person who can tell you if you have to be a member or not.
[email protected]

The Milford Historical Society will have its annual historic home tour on Saturday and the Downtown Business Association sponsors the Annual Car Show on Sunday. And as long as you're in the neighborhood, the Ren Faire is going on in Holly.
If you go, look for My Tear.
Hope to see you there.
Peace,
MyTear

The Reliance Hassock Portable Toilet

I have a black and gray, looks like a stool, not a portapotti. Just use kitty litter and tall kitchen garbage bags. Don't use that blue stuff they sell with it, nasty!
