I HATE Theives!!

Postby Joanne » Thu Dec 18, 2008 11:45 am

I think that the title says it all.

We forgot to shut the garage door the other night and someone got all of the power tools. They got two battery powered drills, my Makita angle grinder, jig saw and my Dremel. Arrrgghhhh.

I've never understood why some people think it's OK to take some else's property. Of course if someone stole their things they would be outraged.

No doubt the tools will end up at a yard sale or on e-bay, a "great deal" for some lucky buyer.

Guess I'll wait until the after Christmas sales and see if I can replace a couple of them....

There are a lot of people out there that are opportunists, especially this time of year. Give them an inch and they will take a mile. An open garage door is a golden invitation to those people. I’ve left my garage door up before but was lucky nothing was taken. I’m sorry that you weren’t so lucky. Fortunately they didn’t take it further (like entering your house).

That sucks!!!
:x

Not only does it suck that you are minus your tools, but all the feelings that go along with it suck too.

Several years ago, I found my dremel had gone missing after one of our maintence guys had gone in there to fix a leaky pipe. These guys have keys, and can pretty much help themselves to whatever they'd like anytime they'd like.
The only thing I could do was hope that karma got him. :(

Since then, we've gotten a whole new crew in here. Some I trust, some are not to be trusted. I still do worry though.

:( Perhaps we all need a sign that says "please leave the tools" I have jewelery or money. :(

Hope you are enjoying the snow!

Yes! There are quite a few home invasions reported here in Vegas. Of course if they come into our house they risk exposure to "hign speed lead poisoning".

It goes without saying that we will need to be more careful about keeping the garage door closed.

I believe in some countries, they cut off your hand if caught stealing. If that were to happen here, there would probably be a lot of one-handers roaming around. Remember, what goes around, comes around. That is why I rush up and kiss every pretty girl I see. Perhaps some of them will rush up and kiss me............NOT. Sorry about your loss, now I will be more determined to keep my garage closed to intruders.

Not much better way up here. My shed is in back of the house, they will come throgh the closed gate and go in to steal stuff. I've got to keep it locked all the time. Sorry for your loss Joanne, any way your homeowners insurance will cover that?

I hate to say it, but with the way the economy is going I expect to see more of this happening.

I feel fortunate that I live in a closed community... no gate, but undersireables kind of stick out like a sore thumb in the cul de sac... not that it helps, but it proably makes them nervous, so, we have had no problems so far.

Since I have a cig once in a while, and she-who-must-be-obeyed (SWAMBO) would crush my manhood if she found out, I often leave my van out, with all doors open to get rid of that glorious nicotiine smell... and have never (so far), anyone borrow anything.
