Wheels Day 2013 Surrey Street Rodders England pic dump.

Postby grizz » Sat Mar 30, 2013 3:26 am

I am not sure if posting on here is quite right, but I do know the group on here has such diverse interests.

Well, I am amazed that we have never been to what could be the best Static car show of this type in the UK.

Woke early as usual yesterday and sat surfing the web while the boss had a late morning in bed...... saw a thread on Wheels day and decided to go, so we only left here at 10am and got in by 12.30
Lesson learned, next year we will go, but get up as normal as silly - o - clock and be parked up by gate opening time.

I took a lot of random pics, and you may notice a slight leaning toward the Pickup and commercial type vehicles.

Just to say that being a cold day out, there was a lot of this...... and the organisers did really well.

Image

I trust our American friends enjoy the "weird English cars too"

I am just going to photodump these as there are about 150 I decided to upload, so please ask questions and comment.

Bit of a highlight for me when Nicola spotted this up on the side.....

1961 Chevy C10 Fleetside.

POSSIBLY ONE OF MY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY.

Never wanted to own one, just love it.

Maybe a new theme and direction for when I get my pickup truck??

I need to research the Archer Oil company a bit more.

Took a few pics of this, and when it drove past me later in the afternoon, it sounded ABSOLUTELY SWEET.

My lovely and tolerant wife, Nicola, wrapped up like an Eskimo, who came along and enjoyed the day with me.
Payback is a day out shopping in Royal Tunbridge Wells later this morning.
She is also the girl who told me to go ahead and buy a 60's Chevy pickup truck.

Haircut anyone ?

The first photo I took yesterday.

Made me realize having had a 63 and 59 Beetle before, just how much I love well done Beetles.

Maybe there is a Beetle somewhere in the future too ??

That is all, and apologies to all those whose systems crashed downloading these.

See you all next year.

Nice pictures and some nice trucks. Only saw a couple of Fiats (at least the grills). Maybe I should ship mine over for next year. ;)

Nice cars!

The caravan is my favorite...and the custom VW bug pickup

I like the Mini's and the Cortina's but I was surprised that I couldn't spot a single MG which I've owned a few of.
There was a Magnette in there. Not the usual MG, but an MG nonetheless. Saw a few of my faves. I like odd and unusual stuff. That weird VW van at the end, the Moggie, the Thames vans, the Lloyd, etc. I wish I still had my old Anglia "Anglebox".

Nice pics Rian/Grizz -it's always interesting to see "what is out there..."

It always amazes me when you all on that side of the pond have the old
American cars - considering your petrol prices over there ! Running them
back here isn't exactly cheap for us as far as that goes either. It's got to
be a small fortune over there.

I also liked that vintage green colored caravan [among all the other great
pics] and wondered if you have an idea of the make/brand of it for future
possible Web search ?

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Always a pleasure guys.

Norm, I have no idea at all about the caravan.

I wonder if it is not a home build.
